art in the park

Went to Central Park, and just on the short
walk from the SE entrance to the zoo, I
saw all of these people drawing,
 sketching,

or painting something.
(My friend Shell
would have fit right in!)

  1. Some of these artists are REALLY good.

I enter Central Park through the southeast corner all the time too.

  2. Ming -- I used to work near the SW corner of the park, but now am closer to the SE. Next time, I'm going into the zoo—get ready for polar bears and monkeys!

  4. Another image of New York !
All seems so peaceful and "familial", it doesn't fit with the image of rush, over-activity and even violence we get from the medias, movies or series !!
I'll be more confident when I visit New York on my own, next time !

  5. That face painting would be just the thing for a cheeky Eiffel Tower for the PDP picnic, which you aren’t going to, of course; are you?

  6. Marylene -- It's crowded and people DO rush around (sometimes we get annoyed at visitors to the city because they're not walking fast enough and we can't get around them!), but not in the park. I feel perfectly safe here, even late at night.

TG -- no, alas, I won't be in Paris. You're not the mystery guest, are you? (My word verification is "notre," as in you know what, which I would be seeing if I was at le pique-nique.) Sigh.

  7. Oh, you are so sweet, Alexa! I don't quite have the knack of the balloons yet, but I have hope for the sketching and face painting. I'm looking forward to the photos from your zoo visit!

I'm feeling a bit piqued about missing the pique-nique. And I'm sorry you won't be there to pick up your crown, Alexa.

    So, TG, do tell?

  8. Shell -- me too!
Am off to Mom's (i.e., Internet black hole). Back tomorrow --
    Have a good weekend!

  9. We’re having a good weekend so far, hope you all are too.

As for the casting director that was encouraged to choose Mr. Cage ("Pick Nick"): Unlike someone of the female persuasion with a huge crush on Eric (sound familiar?) there would be no point in my keeping it all a surprise.

As well, if one were to fly to Paris from North America, both the quickest and least expensive way would be via New York. Especially if one had a friend in the airline industry (from Phoenix?) who might be able to come up with a most reasonable airfare. But we’ll see.
