The sky above and the sky below, reflected
in the Arno. I think everyone who goes to
Florence takes some version of this shot—
from the Ponte Vecchio, looking west toward
Ponte Santa Trinita and Ponte alla Carraia
beyond. I'd like to be there right now!
Oh my!
ReplyDeleteMay I join you? We can have gelati while we wander.
ReplyDeleteThis is breathtaking, Alexa!
I'd like to be there, too. At first in my early morning stupor it looked like the Seine, but after I couldn't find Notre-Dame, I read the text...
ReplyDeleteLovely photo.
Wonderful photo! Happy skywatch Friday!
ReplyDeleteSo would I!! My shot was taken in the daytime, but it's a wonderful view, no matter the time of day or night.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, the light, silhouettes and well as the mirroring in the water.
ReplyDeleteHere's a thought: Let's all go—vino and gelato for everyone!
ReplyDeleteWonderful view!
ReplyDeleteIs there any reason Beatrice can’t join us? I know this guy that’s got the hots for her. That’s putting it mildly, his heart is a veritable Inferno. But to those who know him his pie-in-the-sky love for her is hilariously absurd. You might say it is a Divine Comedy. But it would be nice if she could join us and spend a few more fleeting moments (bleating, in his case) along the Arno in the company of admirers.
ReplyDeleteTG -- if there's a prize for "bookmarks,' — you got it! Your prize is 2 scoops from Vivoli, the world's best gelato, or possibly a bracing after-dinner vin santo from Cingiale Bianco (or any one of several excellent choices for a memorable Fiorentine meal)!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coloring!!
