I'm sure you recognize this even if you've never been here. These are just a few of the flags of the U.N. member nations. There are 193 of them lined up in (English) alphabetical order in front of the headquarters in NYC. [To see more of ABC Wednesday, go here.] |
Mauritania on the left; Mozambique on the right. If anyone cares to fill in the flags in between this would help.
ReplyDeleteI like the bright, smudgy reflections on the wall, top right.
Oh, look. Here is our ex-Prez senior (left of clock) in 1947 with his own appropriately symbolic “flag.”
I wonder how they looked when the earthquake was happening.
ReplyDeleteI have found you through a comment on Genie's Paris and Beyond blog.
ReplyDeleteYou do take very good pictures, travel and have fun, and I've fallen in love with the lay-out of the blog itself too, so you've just gain a new follower.
I think you might like mine too. I was in NYC last Christmas, so you can see it through the eyes of a "visitor" too. I don't like to be considered a tourist either :-)
Flags aren't my strong suit, so I can't help TG to fill in the gaps. But how vibrant they are!
ReplyDeleteMexico is third from the left, it appears.
ReplyDeleteLove the flags

Went on a field trip there in Grade Four! Been past, but not in since.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot for "F" and the wind was blowing in the perfect direction.
ReplyDeleteWonderful how you got them all to stand up and wave just as you took their picture. :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! I am a fellow new Yorker ( brooklyn) and I think we are lucky to live in one of the most photogenic cities on earth.
ReplyDeleteAnd I bet I couldn't name half of those places let alone identify their flags!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo.
Wouldn’t you know it. Liz’s flag of Wales isn’t even at the link above.
ReplyDeleteWell, TG, may I just say dioch yn fawr lawn for such edifying linkage—and thanks to everyone for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love the colorfulness of flags as they flow in the breeze.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot!
