abc wednesday —F is for "flags"

I'm sure you recognize this even if you've never been here.
These are just a few of the flags of the U.N. member
nations.  There are 193 of them lined up in (English)
alphabetical order in front of the headquarters in NYC.

  1. Mauritania on the left; Mozambique on the right. If anyone cares to fill in the flags in between this would help.

I like the bright, smudgy reflections on the wall, top right.

Oh, look. Here is our ex-Prez senior (left of clock) in 1947 with his own appropriately symbolic “flag.”

  3. I have found you through a comment on Genie's Paris and Beyond blog.
You do take very good pictures, travel and have fun, and I've fallen in love with the lay-out of the blog itself too, so you've just gain a new follower.
I think you might like mine too. I was in NYC last Christmas, so you can see it through the eyes of a "visitor" too. I don't like to be considered a tourist either :-)

  4. Flags aren't my strong suit, so I can't help TG to fill in the gaps. But how vibrant they are!

  8. Wonderful how you got them all to stand up and wave just as you took their picture. :-)

  10. And I bet I couldn't name half of those places let alone identify their flags!

    Great photo.
