Happy Bastille Day from the place you 
want to be on the 14th of July!
Since I'm posting ahead, no shots of parades 
up the Champs Elysées or fireworks from
the Eiffel Tower—but if I'm lucky, maybe later.

Took this shot on the East Side of Manhattan,
in the general vicinity of the U.N., where
practically every other brownstone houses
a consulate.  I don't actually remember 
whose flag this is, but you can take your 
pick from among the 193 member nations.

I was driving around with my mom this weekend;
we passed my high school and I just had to ask her to pull 
over so I could jump out and snap a small part of this "field of honor"
that's been installed there since Veteran's Day.

nations.  There are 193 of them lined up in (English)
alphabetical order in front of the headquarters in NYC.
