I took this picture of my brother while we were traveling together in Italy a couple of years ago. (It's unusual because he's actually standing still.) In April David lost his heroic five-year battle with stage-4 cancer—with grace, dignity, and humor, and surrounded by family and friends. I really miss him. [To see lots more "D" posts, go here.] |
Condolences.
ReplyDeleteTo paraphrase the faint underwriting on the left, “2 B Sad.”
Thanks to your photo, now even I (and many others of us) have a kind remembrance of David. Memories of him are living on through today’s image.
I bet this trip together made for special memories. A lovely and touching tribute to your brother.
ReplyDeleteExtremely sorry to hear about your brother.. I couldn't imagine losing my little brother.. I think a peice of me would die too.. Thanks for sharing him with us! Xx
ReplyDeleteI'm very sad to hear that news, Alexa. I can only begin to guess how much you must miss your beautiful brother David. Big hugs...
ReplyDeleteA sad sweet memory. But is he posing by his own hadniwork?!
ReplyDeleteQuand le voyage partagé a été beau, les "au revoir" sont moins tristes.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss, memories will keep him with you always.

What a wonderful picture to have to remind you of your brother. Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful photo to remember Dave - i can't imagine what that is like, but your bond must have been good for you to keep him alive this way. :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute to your brother. And glad you have special memories of him, including the trip you took together. Condolences to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all of you for your kind words—which are very much appreciated. David had more energy than anyone I ever met (how many people do you know who get up from their chemo session and hit the gym?), and he's still sharing it with us—can't explain but trust me.
ReplyDelete(And Shooting Parrots—he would never!)
So sorry Alexa that your family has to miss Dave. Great that you have this pic of him!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry. It's very hard to lose a family member, but it somehow seems worse the more full of life they've been, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love the picture - and I'd never have noticed the '2 B Sad' if Tall Gary hadn't pointed it out!
sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeletebut love the pic.
