Shadow Shot Sunday

There are several war memorials in Battery Park,
at the tip of Manhattan. These stone
slabs (part of the East Coast Memorial) are
inscribed with the names of all those lost in
the Atlantic during WWII.
You kind of have to be there to appreciate
just how dramatic it is, but blowing it up helps.

  4. Beautiful and somber...they just took down a statue of a civil war soldier in our town, it was dissolving because of the pollution in our area..so sad that our city fathers don't see the problem and fix it.

  6. I've seen these in person, and they are dramatic, as is your photo, especially when enlarged.
