Lunchtime in Bryant Park

This is the wonderful space behind the main branch
of the public library, and I'm so lucky that it's
near my office. Went over there one day
last week at lunchtime—and it was all goin' on.
Lots of folks were just hanging out
(eating food from several concession stands,
reading magazines from the racks set under the
trees, or logging on to the Internet on
their laptops with the free wi-fi), and many of them
were taking advantage of the pétanque courts,
ping-pong tables, and chess sets.

  1. Nice place !! So what were you doing on your lunch break ?
I don't know why but I see you more on the pétanque court than playing chess !!!! (Sans préjugés......)

  3. Oh la la, ladies! I have never played pétanque, am rather pitiful at ping-pong, and I don't even want to tell you how long it's been since I've played a serious game of chess! (On the other hand, anyone up for a game of Scrabble? Or how about Trivial Pursuit?)

  4. OK but we'll have to face the language or culture barrier.... again !!
But, tell me, Alexa, I have to ask you the very same question I once asked TG :
    Do you ever sleep ?
Have you had any news from him recently, BTW ? It seems to me he left the blogosphere without warning, didn't he ?

  5. When I saw the first photo of the man playing bacce ball, I knew immediately where this photo was taken. I have spent many hours sitting there watching them play it.

Bryant Park is a such great place to hang out during lunch time.
