Atlas shrugged

. . . and we all know what happened then.
Here's the well-known statue on Fifth Avenue,
right across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral
and in front of the International Building
(part of the Rockefeller Center complex).

  1. Talk about buns of steel, but even those apparently aren’t enough these days if we consider the reaction of some nearby women.

  2. Oh, thank you! There are several PTDDs on offer here. It's a lovely view, Alexa, and I won't complain about the buns of steel.

For some reason, I received a 'forbidden' message when I tried your link, TG, (is it THAT naughty?!) so I'll have to let my mind wander for a while.

  3. Oh, hahahahaha! Yes, it does. Wonderful! They are harder to please than I am.

  4. I initially got the same "forbidden" message & was wondering just how risque that link might be. LOL—I've been trying to perfect the French shrug for years, but I guess I'm just an easy-to-please American, and so be it.

  6. Atlas is probably one of the less well known attraction in the area because (1) he's partly hidden and (2) there are so many other recognizable icons in the area.

    Love the shot.

  8. Did you need to use the famous "Tenin attitude" to take this picture ?
According to me you had to ! I've been there once but can't remember how tall Atlas is.
Hope you have a pleasant weekend, it is raining in Paris today.

  9. Marylene -- I did not have to get on the ground a la Eric, since Atlas sits on a pedestal that is taller than I am—mais ca ne dit peut-etre pas beaucoup, puisque je suis toute petite. (Et excuse moi pour le clavier Americain sans accents etc.)
