Shadow Shot Sunday

Well, we may not have had snow here for
the
holidays (far from it—it hit 72°F/22°C
here in NYC on Christmas Eve!), but it was
a winter wonderland at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Blue Christmas

Here's one of Saks Fifth Avenue's elegant
holiday windows—the theme: Winter Palace.
{Stayed tuned tomorrow for one of
another NYC store's holiday windows.}

Peek-a-boo!

Manolos on display at Saks Fifth Avenue.
They're beautiful, I admit—but my
little dogs would be barking after teetering
along for even one short block in those things.

Personally, I'd like to believe that we
don't have to suffer in order to be "fashionable."
How about you?

Once upon a time in New York

This year, Saks Fifth Avenue has chosen
an "urban fairy tale" theme for their
holiday windows—very well executed too!

Thursday Challenge: "my favorite photo"

I stood under the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree
(an 85-foot-tall Norway spruce from Pennsylvania)
to take this shot of the angels in the Channel Gardens
and the well-lit façade of Saks Fifth Avenue.

That's the glow of 45,000 (!) LED lights.

Kick up your (5-inch) heels!

Passed by Saks Fifth Avenue on my way to work
last month, and every window was devoted
to that guy who makes those shoes that I can
neither afford nor wear.  Oh well.

About that tree . . .

Okay, here it is. Figured I had to go get a picture
of the Rockefeller Center tree.  Of course,
when I went by there on Sunday night, there were
probably several thousand people who had the same
bright idea. So I turned the other way and
snapped this shot of Saks Fifth Avenue's "snowy" façade instead.

Atlas shrugged

. . . and we all know what happened then.
Here's the well-known statue on Fifth Avenue,
right across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral
and in front of the International Building
(part of the Rockefeller Center complex).

window shopping

or not.   Because I just have to say:  I really really
DON'T want it.  At all.  Any part of it.  No, no, no!
Show your arms?  Hey, who do I look like?
 Michele Obama?
On the other hand . . . those big red sexy exclamation
points are pretty darned compelling.
So maybe if they say it one more time . . .
