photo hunter – "electric"

Here's a cool new (to me) meme, with a different
theme each Saturday.  And here's a vehicle
that uses electricity to charge its battery.
Even though I'm totally phobic about
driving, the Segway looks like a really
fun (and green) way to get around.
Spotted these up at the Campidoglio,
in Rome (where it takes a big dose of
nerve even to cross the street on foot).

  1. Oh, hee hee heeeee! This reminds me of an episode of Frasier where Niles acquires one of these. Gosh I miss that show! But back to your photo ~ it would be a fun way to get around the local area. The different-coloured messenger bags add a nice touch.

  2. These are fashionable Segways! I saw Segways being ridden on the BEACH in California, and it wasn't on rock-hard sand either. How the heck do you balance on them?

  3. They do look fun to ride. I've never seen anyone in real life with one though, just in the movies.

  6. Great photos! Those things are neat. We could never use them here in Upstate NY, though-- too cold and too much snow!

  10. Immediately, I knew it can't be in NYC because those bags would be gone in 20 seconds. :-)

I tried a Segway (believe it or not) at Union Square a couple years ago. It was fun but balancing it was definitely something to get used to.
