at the Met

They've set up this big screen right on the
front of the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln
Center, and have been showing free screenings
of Met performances in HD. On Friday the
ex and I enjoyed a performance of La Boheme.
This is also my first post for a meme called
Mellow Yellow Monday (memes are so much
fun, and I think there's enough yellow here
to qualify for this one).

[Enjoy more Mellow yellow here.]

  1. So nice, that's a great idea ! And a nice picture !
I don't have a dictionary to find the French best translation for "meme", anyone can help ?

  2. Love mellow yellow. I saw/listened to some of the Met's singers perform this summer on Pier 70. It had poured, but that did not put a damper on anyone's spirits.

  3. marylene -- not sure how to describe a meme, but maybe this will help. BTW, you can enjoy the opening-night performance of the opera season on 9/21 via this screen and another in Times Square.
bibi -- NY has an amazing variety of free music all summer—glad you got to enjoy some of it.

  5. A beautiful subtle shade of what I'd definitely describe as yellow. What a great idea for them to broadcast like that. Did you take deck chairs? I don't think I could stand for a whole performance of La Bohème!

  6. Welcome to MYM. This is your 1st entry cool and unique one. See each other in MYM world. My MYM here.

  7. Shell -- they thoughtfully provide chairs (2800 of them are set up in the plaza in front of the Met).
    Thanks, Anne!

  8. What a great idea...and nice yellow glow. Good first entry for MYM...see you next Monday.

  9. Cool photo - the yellows are so warm and inviting

  10. Alexa, that's some serious quantity of chairs ~ good for them!

  11. WOW that is a NICE shot!
    Thanks for sharing!
    Have a Lovely♥Day!
