Shadow Shot Sunday

Had to choose this out-of-season
shot of my daughter Kate—because I
like the shadows, but also because today
is her birthday. Happy b-day, Katie!

  1. Now this is a coincidence. I’ve been storing in my dark old root cellar just the thing. It can’t hold a candle to your photo, of course, but let’s see if I can bring it to light a bit.

May the shadow of her smile be all chocolate smudges.

Now you have me humming, “♫ This Is The Dawning of the Rage of Aquarius ♬♩...” Quite the rage...

  2. TG -- Katie will appreciate your comment—and especially your links, as she happens to be a pumpkin-carver extraordinaire (and a connoisseur of all things de-lish).

  9. Speaking of “Water Carriers” (Aquarius) and considering today’s special events. I have a gift in mind for Katie so that we can refer to today as The Katie Bowl; or more precisely:
A fine 'jun' 'lotus bud' water pot. Northern Song dynasty. (Photo: Sotheby's)."

  13. Amazing how bulky pumpkins cast thin shadows! Love this quirky perspective of your daughter!
