This prodigious pachyderm, called "Gran Elefandret," is the work of sculptor Miguel Barcelo and will be up (literally!) here in Union Square until the end of May. Now, about those numbers in the background: I told some nice tourists who were here that it's the national debt—but I lied (sorry). I believe NYU has finally given me the definitive answer. That's an interesting sculpture!
ReplyDeleteI laughed before it completely downloaded.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone lost its grip. But what a save! Nice landing!
It has a couple hours until sunset. I’m sure it’ll make it back into its nest OK now.
ReplyDeleteI just love this elephant. My skin would look the same if I could do a headstand....
ReplyDeleteThe elephant is EXCELLENT, but I also love the clock story.

An acrobatic elephant, what fun. I like the concept of the clock, the question is what do you say if someone asks you the time?

Nothing like a good solid trunk :-) And very interesting about the clock.
