This rainbow (actually, I think I see two) was captured by my daughter Lila a couple of years ago, as she and her sister Kate were floating in a dugout canoe on a lake in the Peruvian rain forest.
Great mix of grey, overcast clouds, and brilliant sun illumination. Also, I like much the color and texture of the river.
I used to think of double rainbows as lucky. But Peruvian rainbows? Take a gander: “In Amazonian cultures, rainbows have long been associated with malign spirits that cause harm, such as miscarriages and (especially) skin problems. In the Amuesha language of central Peru, certain diseases are called ayona’achartan, meaning "the rainbow hurt my skin". A tradition of closing one's mouth at the sight of a rainbow in order to avoid disease appears to pre-date the Incan empire.” Considering that Laila’s camera kept its “mouth” open when taking the photo I wonder how badly it skin hurts. One hopes not as bad as this.
Wow, double rainbows, two sets of wishes :D I always forget my camera when I'm faced with double rainbows. I get rooted on the spot and just admire. :D Great shot. Here's my Skywatch.

Some interesting “other mythologies” here.
