That's My World

Went to check out NYC's faaabulous
new food emporium, Eataly.
The joint was jumpin' so I decided to skip
the
restaurants and get a carb fest to go.

Couldn't resist some of this wonderful Italian
butter to slather on that fresh-from-the-oven
baguette. The cashier told me I was only
missing one thing: chocolate!

  2. First of all, love your new banner!

    And the bread, oh, yum.

Chocolate? Frequently I buy a pain au chocolat at a bakery here that does a really, really good imitation of the French one. Remember that song, "Tous les matin elle achetait son petit pain au choco-lat-la-la-la-la?" Jules Dassin? I think I misspelled his name....

  4. Oh … the bread looks so fresh and delicious with a crust that is wonderfully crunchy! Slathering it with butter tops it off just right for an occasional treat. :)

  7. Wonderful close up shots of the of the bread. It's so yummy in your photo, so captivating, makes me feel so hungry right now. Usually dip these breads with mushroom soup when I eat them.

    Have a nice day.
    Regards.

  8. Bread and butter !! When they are good no need for chocolate ! Your picture makes me feel hungry !

Yes, Bibi, you almost got it ! You picked the father where you should have picked the son, Joe Dassin. And, if I remember well, "il" achetait un petit pain au chocolat, because he was in love with the boulangère ! Toute ma jeunesse !!!

  9. «Louis», a boulanger-wannabe would go nuts in here! Like you, he would have gone for the butter, too! He likes that name, "Eataly" - what a fine play on words!
