shadow Shot Sunday

Looked out the window of my office
one day and snapped this shot of 3rd
Avenue near 42nd Street—and, for a
change, there were no fire trucks
(or sirens to announce their imminent
arrival). BTW, Midtown Manhattan is
a very noisy place!

  1. Nice view and, you're right, rather quiet for a change. Wish I had that kind of view from my "office" !!
BTW, I am curious, what kind of building/wall/fence can give such a "ombre en pointillés" (dotted?) ?

  2. It has a calm feel, and it's very neat looking too, with post, bin, bikes, plants and tree all neatly parallel to the street! The dotted shadows are a nice contrast.

  5. I imagine it would be very noisy there. You are either up very high or that lady is unusually small ;) I like the shadows decorating the footpath! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

  8. Nice shot! I don't participate in Shadow Shot Sunday, but I like how these various themes make us look at scenes in different way.

  11. Thanks, all! to be honest, I'm not really sure what it is that creates these shadows—and I look at this building all day, every day. What can I say? It's a mystery. My fave thing about this image? Blow it up and check out her red shoes.
