Skywatch Friday

Have to say that I'm sometimes
(pleasantly) surprised by what my
point-and-shoot camera can do
(even without a tripod)!

  2. Your point-and-shoot camera is so much better than mine, Alexa. ;)

  3. I think somehow 'little' cameras capture shots like this much better, at least, as you say, hand-held. Excellent half-moon!

  4. I agree that point and shoots are often amazing. But I suspect there has to be a good photographer clicking down on the shutter to make it happen. :)

  6. Yes, I have taken to traveling with a PhD (Push here Dummy) camera. I feel absolutely naked without a camera and sometimes when I travel, I just want something I can discretely slip into my pocket. Or, I may not want to travel with the big lens and the little lens, so I slip the PhD into my long lens holster bag.

So for travel, a point-and-shoot works very well, and those travel shots are likely to be full frame anyway. I've done well with $200 PhD camera.

  7. Don't you love it?? That's what hooked me on cameras when I got a shot like yours. Now I want bigger and bigger ones of the moon!! You did a great job.
