I think it's time for another sunset. I caught this
one as the sun went down over the Piankatank
River, at the home of friends down in the
Virginia delta—one of the most beautiful
spots in the whole country!

This is one beautiful photo. I wish I had taken it (and that I was in such a beautiful spot!). One suggestion: you might be even happier with it if you rotated the image slightly so that the horizon was flat and the water didn't "pour out." I started doing that especially on my water shots and I was amazed at what it did. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteExcellent suggestion, Sara! (What can I say? I'm still learning—so thanks!)
ReplyDeletemaybe it's just me but I love off kilter photos. To me they show how we really see things and make me feel as if I am standing there looking at the scene myself.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful.
& I love the name of the river too.
And in this part of the country, just clicking on the photo turned my computer monitor into the most beautiful spot around.
ReplyDeleteWow. Gorgeous photo of an amazingly beautiful place. Love the dock silluette.
ReplyDeleteexquisite! breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty view and so beautifully framed, thanks for sharing with Sky Watch Friday.
ReplyDeleteI love the name of the river almost as much as the beautiful photo. The sound of the river's name reminds me of someone practicing the piano.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful sunset! Love the serenity of the place.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sky!

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful scene. I think I agree, this looks like it could be one of the most beautiful spots in the country!
