That's My World

Went for a little walk (more like a trudge—through 3- and 4-foot drifts)
around the neighborhood.  Took me an hour to cover a distance

that normally takes about 10 minutes. The cars that weren't buried
were either abandoned in the middle of the street or stuck!

Love the sign in the photo at bottom right: Keep Intersection Clear.
Snowshoes (and ski poles) were definitely the best way to get around today.

[See more of the world here.]

  1. You know, it’s only a matter of time before your neighborhood looks like this.

Let’s hope that is in the realm of eons. But, I don’t know. Things are changing pretty fast.

  2. Wow - it looks as though you guys got it worse than Long Island!
& have I mentioned that I LOVE your banner shot?

  3. Egads, Alexa ~ I saw this on TV here and thought of you and Lily straight away, of course. Sorry, I can't shake the vision I'm having of you walking along with tennis racquets strapped to your feet! I'm glad you're safe and sound. Now, go back inside, pronto.

  4. Wow, that is genuine weather! Just like the old days, sonny, when I walked up hill, both ways, to school, with snow up to my .. never you mind!

Meanwhile, in my neck of the woods, floods.

Take care, hope things settle down.

  5. Wow thats some snow, not the norm for Brooklyn. Great photos!

  6. Amazing amount of snow. Lovely!

  7. That much snow really looks best out in the country, not in a large urban area!

  8. I remember the days of parking on the streets of Brooklyn, waiting for that "perfect" spot a block's distance from my home. Can't say I miss that aspect to City living. Lovely pictures.
