Thursday Challenge — "school"

I took this at the University in Padua,
which I've shown before. This young man
had just gotten his degree and (as is
the custom) was being both lauded and
completely embarrassed by his friends:
They made him strip down to his shorts
(in March!) and run between them as they
slapped his back. Then they draped him in
a laurel wreath and paraded him
through the neighborhood.

  1. Graduation! The only time anything like that ever happened at my university was when a student had to leave a “private tutorial” prematurely due to the surprise arrival of the professor’s angry husband.

  2. I'm glad he was wearing sensible undies.

  3. oh my goodness...what do they put the women graduates through?
& this is a great photo Alexa.

  4. Well...I'm kind of glad they made him strip down...what a bod; like a statue!

  5. very interesting. a different kind of school culture.

Thanks, merci, grazie, danke, hvala, gracias, spasibo, shukran, dhanyavaad, salamat, arigato, and muito obrigado for your much-appreciated comments.
