The "ancestors' corner" at my mother's house. That's my grandmother Miss Lucy (it's a Southern thing) in the center. The woman could carry off a serious chapeau! My other grandma was no slouch in the hat-wearing dept. either—that's Mother Ripley (and that name I really can't explain) in the feathered number. I just love old family photos—how about you? Yes I do love them too!
ReplyDeleteI like the one on the table where all of the women are looking towards the baby with smiles-what a great photo!
They are so nostalgic!
ReplyDeleteThat's a Ripley, err lovely corner :) I too love old family photos - it's a good idea to create a corner just for photographs.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that is you in the horizontal frame on the right... a baby with four doting women.
ReplyDeleteI treasure the old photos. My dad gave me a black paper photo album that he put together when he was about 10 years old. He has the names, the dates, and the street and town on each... what a little historian he was (and photographer!)

Old photos are so fascinating, especially the portraits!
