It's a double reflection, really—the sun reflecting off the water and the reflection of the family in the wet sand. [To see more Weekend Reflections, visit James's meme.] |

Thursday Challenge — "family"
| The "ancestors' corner" at my mother's house. That's my grandmother Miss Lucy (it's a Southern thing) in the center. The woman could carry off a serious chapeau! My other grandma was no slouch in the hat-wearing dept. either—that's Mother Ripley (and that name I really can't explain) in the feathered number. I just love old family photos—how about you? and she's still cute!
This is my mother, who turned 89 this
past week. We had a little birthday
dinner last night at her favorite
restaurant. She's a real inspiration—
the woman still works (and the place
would fall apart w/o her)!
This shot was actually taken last
Thanksgiving, which explains the
pilgrim earrings. (They belonged to
someone dear to us all, and now my
mother wears them every year, to
keep our friend with us in spirit.)
