then and now

No, it's not a bakery.  Not even close.  But
once upon a time—and how cool is
it that this antiques store
didn't feel the need to change that?

I don't even know what this place is called.
I just know that I really want that horse!

  1. it is very cool that they didn't change the sign or make everything so "perfect" on the outside. It is perfect just the way it is.
& I like the round mirrors seen in the top photo.

  2. Apart from the exterior, the shop reminds me of something on Rue de Rivoli near the Louvre.

Ah, yes. That horse could come in handy if ever you set siege to a city on the Hudson River NNE of Albany, say Troy? And it is guaranteed to take less upkeep, and especially need for attention such as this horse who seems to be saying, "Are you listenin' to me?"

  3. That is cool, and I agree with Gary; does look like something from that part of Paris, at least inside. Rue de Rivoli is pretty much graffiti free. Anyway, the horse is great; how much? I like the stone figure on the left whose head you can't quite see.

  4. I don't suppose it's called T Boner? Nope, probably not.

I'll see your 'cool' and raise you an 'über'. :) Lily H, you can take the large mirror and I'll be happy with the small. Bibi and Alexa can sort out who gets the horse for weekends and holidays.

I love the GeeGee in your link, Tall Gee!

  5. TG -- where'd you find that picture of me pre-braces?
(And I'm probably short enough to fit inside that wooden horse too. Look out, Troy!)

I'm not usually a big fan of graffiti, but I like that they just let it be, like the rest of the facade.
