Very nice, Alexa! I love the angle and perspective. And what nice gift/s to receive from a friend! I have my own art everywhere but I'd love to have some 'real' art. One of Sam Fullbrook's would be one of my dreams come true. And of all coincidences, this gallery has a pastel of his called 'New York Skater' at the moment {scroll down the page and hopefully it will still be there}, thinking back to your post of a few days ago.
Yes, Shell, that New York Skater is still there and I don't believe he is a mere amateur because his every movement is in perfect synch with your most pleasing Mussorgsky. What a show! Thanks.
G -- it was also difficult to take a photo without any people in it—the place was packed!
Ming -- better late than never, I suppose.
Shell -- you shouldn't say your art isn't "real" art. Like the things you show by Sam Fullbrook. I notice he did one called Mermaid Bride. Coincidentally, Bob's show was called The Mermaid Ball, and there were 3 or 4 big, colorful pieces depicting people at the Mermaid Ball that follows the Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
This is another of those times when you two seem to have something mysterious going on between yourselves. Art gallery. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Or is it the other way around?
From looking at your link I’ll bet that Bob Sievert is fond of the paintings of Maurice Utrillo. I chose this one solely because of its PTDD.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that you would give us a glimpse of the art opening you went to on Saturday. Thanks.
It must be difficult to photograph something like paintings in a gallery. This was done well with lighting contrast and depth of field.
Me too! I wish I can afford one or two good pieces.
ReplyDeleteI'm a late bloomer when it comes to art appreciation.

ReplyDeletePointy-topped doo-dad! Thank you, TG! And here's some accompaniment for the art viewings.

{Sorry, Alexa, you're right. It's a habit I have.} I love those coincidences. Those Mermaid festivities look pretty wild!
