Peek-a-boo!

Manolos on display at Saks Fifth Avenue.
They're beautiful, I admit—but my
little dogs would be barking after teetering
along for even one short block in those things.

Personally, I'd like to believe that we
don't have to suffer in order to be "fashionable."
How about you?

  1. Personally, I don’t think high heels are any more harmful than certain other shoe fashions that have been popular. Or should I have written “...any less harmful”? I have known of cases where high heels have been maiming worn over long enough time.

What is even better than comfortable shoes sometimes is going barefoot. Especially in Central Park.

  2. Comfort over style every time for me. Love the reflection of the yellow cabs in the window.

  4. I've been choosing comfort for years. Though I love the look of pretty shoes, the wearer often can't stand up straight or walk gracefully in them. They're not for everyone. But I love your picture!

  5. I'm still going for heels most of the time ~ ballet flats if I really need speed and endurance. :) But I forego the crazy skyscrapers now. To my way of thinking, it's far more alluring to have a lower heel height and walk effortlessly and confidently than tottering with one's centre of gravity out of kilter and blisters galore. This is a gorgeous shot, Alexa.
