Manolos on display at Saks Fifth Avenue. They're beautiful, I admit—but my little dogs would be barking after teetering along for even one short block in those things. Personally, I'd like to believe that we don't have to suffer in order to be "fashionable." How about you? [To see more Weekend Reflections, visit James's meme.] |

Kick up your (5-inch) heels!
Passed by Saks Fifth Avenue on my way to work last month, and every window was devoted to that guy who makes those shoes that I can neither afford nor wear. Oh well. [To see more Weekend Reflections, visit James's meme.] |

That's Our World
It's a New York bargain! But only if you consider 50% off $900+ a bargain. I stopped into the Manolo sale yesterday, and there were quite a few women buying. As gorgeous as the shoes are (and this was the most over-the-top design I saw), I still managed to resist. [To see more of our world, go here.] |

Thursday Challenge — "shoes"
![]() |
These fabulous shoes were made by Signor Albion, cobbler extraordinaire, in Florence, Italy (where they know something about shoemaking). |

And this is Sr. Albion (shot by my daughter Lila 12 years ago). [To see more of the Thursday Photo Challenge, go here.] |

abc wednesday - U is for "uncomfortable"
These are featured in one of Lord and Taylor's
holiday windows. I realize they're Badgley Mischka,
no doubt cost a not-so-small fortune, and
therefore should by rights be super-comfy.
But I'll bet you the price of these
shoes that they're not only killer to look at
but also to wear. Hey, the height of the
heels alone would have me hobbling immediately!
