This is the basilica of St. Stephen (Szent István, 975–1038), named for the the first king of Hungary. The church itself is not very ancient—it was completed in 1905. It's one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest and one of the three largest churches in Hungary. [To see more churches from around the world, go here.] |
