Eating at Eataly

I've featured Eataly before (here and here).
If you don't know it, check it out here.  I visited
recently on a snowy day, when it was actually
empty enough to get a seat at one of the
restaurants there.  Couldn't pass up the opportunity to
enjoy a glass of wine and this beautiful beet salad . . .

with goat cheese, truffles, and candied hazelnuts.  Yum!

  1. That beet salad looks, well, excuse me, unbeetable. That thinly sliced radish is up (by now, no doubt, in) there, as well.

I just can’t do meat any more. Nor chicken. At my age meat or no meat makes so little difference to me. But a huge difference to the pre-meat.

I used to like fish and chicken but I understand what the food-industrial complex does to living beings in order to produce it (meat) on an industrial scale. And I am most aware of the continuing massive amounts of radiation finding its way into the ocean from the continuing Fukushima debacle so I pass on seafood as well. But, hey, I am still alive, for now.

(“Candied” equates with sugar so I would pass on that slow toxin [speaking of slow: the prior link?] as well).

Trader Joe’s around here sometimes has bottles of black-truffle oil so I imagine that being in the dish for the bread dip.

Speaking of Trader Joe’s and goat cheese they have had this of late. Yum. But really, nothing comes any where near your fine repast.
