It was sunny on our side of these Andean foothills, but over there—not so much. I took dozens of photos trying to capture the dramatic skies of Ecuador and, frankly, never totally succeeded. I guess you had to be there. [To see more Skywatch pictures, go here.] |
Uh, I think you got it... I can see the anger in those clouds. I remember in the flat areas of Patagonia (Argentina side) that you could see a panoramic view for miles and miles just by turning slowly in a circle.
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this photo just gave me a shiver.

Looks like sky drama to me. I'd be thinking about lightning, powerful rain....
ReplyDeleteWe can see how bright it is where you are: the brilliant white cloud top left; the shadows off the cars; and how foreboding it looks ahead. Would panorama shots (stitchable?) capture more of the sky?
ReplyDeleteEquador! Wonderful, what a trip Alexa!
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine your view being more incredible than what you've shown us here. But I do believe you when you say it was since I've had similar experiences trying to reproduce nature's beauty.
Wow is right. You caught some awesome shots. Some of those clouds look pretty mean.
