It's a NYC institution—serving up great deli food since 1888! I went there recently for the first time in a long time. My friend had their world-famous pastrami sandwich and I enjoyed what Gourmet magazine called "the best hot dog in New York." By the way, this is where Nora Ephron filmed the famous "I'll have what she's having" scene in When Harry Met Sally. [Today is Ruby Tuesday. To see more, go here.] |

Is there a more eye-catching shade of ruby than red neon on a New York night?
ReplyDeleteOne site said that “the deli has changed very little in appearance, retaining a grungy sheen.” Love it.
I like the little sign on their website menu that says; “Send a salami to your boy in the army.” Also a good video taken on a “slow day.” I think we could catch a glimpse of both items you and your friend could have lived a week on.
Wait! No! Is that Makavity waiting in line? No. It couldn’t be. Makavity’s not there.
Been there, ate a pastrami, loved the place, and saw the movie! A complete experience!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!

Good choice for Ruby Tuesday. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been there about 5 times. it doesn't look as though it has been cleaned or made more modern in at least 50 years.
ReplyDeleteOMG I almost forgot about this place & yes that scene WAS funny!!!
ReplyDeletetime for a hotdog I think.
My husband has a craving for their salami every so often.
