The Weekend in Black and White

I showed you these pretty jewel-toned
hummingbirds this past Tuesday—but I also
shot them in black and white.  For me, it's

all about the way they move (i.e., constantly).

  1. I like the sounds they make as the flit by, too. “Tsk. Tsk. Tsuuung. Zip! Whooom.”

I smiled when I saw your image and how it was depicting, in high contrast, some recent acquaintances seen here just a few days ago.

I once read that hummingbird wings consist of just “hand” bones, not complete arm structures; but it goes way beyond that, as seen here.

  2. Gosh. How did you catch this, Alexa?! Glorious.

And TG, thank you for the link. They seem rather magical little birds, flying with infinity in their wings.

  3. So nice to see these wonderful birds!
    Great in B&W!

  4. Wonderful capture! Very striking in B&W.

  5. Beautiful silhouettes. Such exotic little birds.

Thanks, merci, grazie, danke, hvala, gracias, spasibo, shukran, dhanyavaad, salamat, arigato, and muito obrigado for your much-appreciated comments.
