Skywatch Friday

I'd love to tell you all about these
sculptures set atop a concrete wall in
Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Unfortunately,
I haven't a clue. All I know is that while
driving around Brooklyn with some friends
recently, I came across these interesting statues.
Maybe it's better not to know and just
enjoy a serendipitous sighting.

  1. Apart from the perfect composition of your photo, I see it as a kind of artistic defiance in the face of philistine barbarism (the graffiti and barbed wire).

  2. Gosh, I agree with you, better not to ask. It's somehow spectral all that, isn't it? But then curiosity...

  4. I agree with the others! Fascinating picture, but why there??? Somehow one doesn't think about classic statues and barbed wire and graffiti standing side by side! Hope you enjoy your weekend, Alexa!

  6. I am still trying to get some info on these. So far, the Internet has let me down—I might have to ask an actual person!
