Shadow Shot Sunday

Found these ancient weapons in Venice's Correr Museum
(where you're not allowed to take photos—ha!).  Hard

to tell here, but they're probably 10 or 12
feet long—deadly but still, somehow, beautiful.

[See more shadow shots here.]

  1. Oh, you devil...maybe they slice off body parts from sneaky photographers... I'd better watch out, too.

  2. Most certainly beautiful in addition to the dangerous look! Interesting ironwork on the tops of the blades.

  3. Glad the guards didn't spot you ;)

It's intriguing that old weapons were a work of art as well as being something to deter and possibly kill people with.

  4. Great shot!! They are very interesting weapons. A bit decrorative but deadly too, and make cool shadows to boot.
I too like snapping those sneaky photos!!
    Thanks for sharing!!

  5. Alexa, you are officially part of the international stealth photo team... please bring wine and I'll get the fromage - hah!

I love the way you scoff at the "no photo" rules!

  6. Deadly looking blades!

    A PARFAIT DAY

A seeker of shadows one day
    Did trip as she went on her way;
    She picked herself up
    And dipped from a cup
    Of shadowy lemon parfait!
