Snapped this from a moving train, and I thought
I was taking it for the colorful graffiti. Then I saw
those looong shadows on the frozen lake . . . [You can see lots more shadows here.]
Long shadows, graffiti, frozen lake, clouds--they all work together for a wonder-filled composition!
SILLY SHADOW DITTY
Shadows may or may not be Patterns of urbanity. If a shadow threatens you, Here, my dear, is what to do: Grab the shadow by the throat, Toss it to a billy goat, So the goat can chomp and chew, Keeping it away from you!
Ah! The Massapequa Preserve! I've posted this very same building only not from this spectacular perspective but from the path below that runs along side it. How great to see it in the snow! Nice catch Alexa. : )
Look, a pointy-topped doodad in the middle of nowhere... and I'm happy for your serendipitous shadows, dear Alexa!
ReplyDeleteToo cool for school!
ReplyDeleteShell, using doodad and serendipitous in one comment scores extra browny points!
a fascinating photo! Where is this? What is "the pointy-topped" building?
ReplyDeleteWow this is a beautiful snapshot! Thanks for sharing... A true photographer can really notice even the unnoticeable object in a Photo xD
ReplyDeletethe colors against the snow are really pretty

Great photo!! Don't you just love those "surprise shadows"??
ReplyDeleteWow...did this ever catch my eye! This photo could have been taken in Serbia...see similar constructions right here.
ReplyDeleteThere are really many little structures that look like yours, though not necessarily on that site. Very nice shot!
It must be a fairy-cottage... just so colorful against that landscape of white... The roof appears painted with snow just for your capture!

Great shot from a train!
ReplyDeleteLove the building and the beautiful view.
Lovely shot-particularly if you took it while you were "whizzing" along on the train.
