Found these pretty primavere (primroses) at the flower market on the Ile de la Cité, in Paris—at just about this cold and snowy time of year, but in 2005. Funny that they're named for spring and yet bloom so beautifully in the dead of winter. I'm grateful and I'll bet the Parisians are too! [For more Mellow Yellow, go here.] |
Just in time to brighten up this Winter season!
ReplyDeleteI used to buy these all the time (well, in the winter) when I lived in Paris... They were rather inexpensive and so colorful, as your beautiful photo shows.
ReplyDeleteEvery day is improved by flowers ~ but especially a bleak winter's day! I hope you start to thaw out there very soon...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and colorful!
ReplyDeletePrimroses are such a pick me up during these dreary winters aren't they! Loved your photo! Have a great week..

I love primroses but we do not get them here. I love their bright colors and deep green foilage and love seeing them...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead filled with many flowers!

A damsel who loved shades of yellow
One Monday let out a loud bellow:
“My gold is all gone,
My amber and fawn—
Just wait till I find that vile fellow!”

Don't les fleurs in Paris make your heart sing! They last so long into the fall. Amazing.
