Weekend Reflections

Autumn in Paris: These wouldn't be
here long—in my experience, concierges
and shopkeepers both are very
fastidious about keeping the sidewalks clean.

Thursday Challenge—"leaves"

This time last year, I had just returned home
from Paris, where I took this shot of a carpet of fallen
leaves in a pretty little pocket park in the Marais.

As happy as I am to travel to Paris, today I'm grateful to
be right here where I'll enjoy a turkey dinner with
family and friends.  If you're celebrating Thanksgiving,
I hope you're with the ones you love too.

The Weekend in Black and White

These leaves remind me of the school uniform I had
to wear when I was a kid: a white blouse and a
jumper with a pleated skirt.  However, if I had shown
up with a hem as ragged as the edge of these leaves,
the nuns would have sent me straight home to mend it!

The Weekend in Black and White

Can't tell you what this plant is, but
I just love the way the leaves
almost look like they've been engraved
with that clearly delineated design.

Thursday Challenge—"orange"

'Tis the season in my fave garden.
Took this shot the week before Sandy
descended and haven't been there since
(mainly because it was closed for cleanup).

The Weekend in Black & White

Back to the garden for this one—
a curtain of wisteria leaves that lead
you into the sunny rose garden.
