ABC Wednesday—H is for "hands"

 . . . and also for Hungarian.
These are the very talented hands of
my favorite young artist, Maté Orr.

And here's a detail from a painting (Maté is his
own best model) that was hanging
up in
his Budapest studio on the day we went to visit.

Thursday Challenge — "hands"

There's an art to sharing a subway pole on a
crowded train, and New Yorkers have it down:
close but not touching—and don't make eye contact.
(Also, don't whip out your camera and start
snapping your fellow commuters. Just turn off
the sound on your cell phone and try to be discreet.)

Photo Hunt — "hands"

This is another challenge where I had too many shots
to choose from (who doesn't love to photograph hands?).
Finally settled on this one, because I also love reliquaries
(creepy but beautiful).  This one is in the Santa Maria
Novella church, in Florence. Don't know for sure, but
I'd guess that it contains some part of St. Sebastian.

abc wednesday - H is for "hands"

Whenever I look at a piece of art—painting,
sculpture, photograph, whatever—if there
are hands in it, that's where my eye is drawn.
And when you take a LOT of photos, it's nice
sometimes to focus in for a change.
