Weekend Reflections


One of many art installations set up around
the city for the summer, this is
Tom Fruin's Kolonihavehus, 2010.
Fruin used about 1,000 locally sourced scraps
of colorful Plexiglas in the construction.

Whoever lived in this glass house would
have a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge!

  1. I’m such a sucker for brilliant glowing colors like this. It is like an exterior version of this.

    And being made of plexiglass one needn’t worry about always having bandaids on hand during house cleaning.

    From the looks of it alone, for those living there, I suppose that it wouldn’t be a good idea to use it as a storage unit for royals. You know what they say, “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t stow ...
