Roatan sunset

This one is borrowed from my daughter Lila,
who took it when she and her sister,
Katie, were celebrating the New Year on
this island off the coast of Honduras.

  1. First this photo is breathtaking. After somehow getting breath in my lungs it becomes stunning. After then regaining consciousness it
makes me think of a favorite set of books: The Bounty Trilogy. My high-school library had the version illustrated by Andrew Wyeth’s father: N.C. Wyeth. As a note of possible interest, the son of co-author, James Norman Hall, was the talented cinematographer Conrad Hall.

The story, obviously, has been made into a few movies itself. This one presages Lila's photo by a few decades (78 years). Apparently there is a remake in production designed for contemporary audiences. Mutiny on the Bounty 2014.

    Aargh!”

  8. I do like the fact that there is a boat in the image - I think it makes it a much better picture.
