Le Louvre, La Nuit

I'm always surprised—and pleased—when
I pass by the Louvre late at night and
find hardly another soul around.
(Just wish I had the chance more often!)

  1. I know; I always used to think the same when at Le Square du Vert Galant on the Ile de la Cite. Love the stillness in your photo....

  7. A beautiful setting indeed ... I hope you were not alone. Or is it safe in Paris, alone at night?
Sadly, it certainly wouldn't be here.

  9. What must please you even more is that through that center portal back there is another body of water across which a friend of yours was looking in this direction. A different time, a different day and your eyes could have met...

  10. A stunning capture, Alexa. Thanks for sharing. I'll be in Paris again in April so my photo buddy and I will doubtless have some evening strolls with our cameras!

  11. TG -- an "almost" encounter. (Except that I had seen him the night before and wished him bon voyage—when I took this shot, our friend was in Denver!)
