Who called the cops?

I saw these bugs while strolling in Père Lachaise cemetery
with my friend Marylène, who told me that they're called
"gendarmes."  I thought it was because they look like they're
wearing a uniform, but it's actually because you never see one all
by itself—they travel in groups, just like the Paris police!

  2. Have mercy, even the bugs in Paris are chic. {Not that I'd want it any other way...} Lovely close-up, my sweet.

  3. I love that they are called gendarmes because of their group travels. Clever and funny. However, I am not a fan of bugs, though I like your photo very much.

  7. So colorful! They remind me a bit of Box Elder bugs. Perhaps they are in the same "bug family".
