Shadow Shot Sunday

What a treat it is for me to leave the
24/7 insanity of NYC and spend a
few restful days in this place
[insert deep breath here].

  1. The evergreen branches with pine cones are a nice upper framing.

I haven’t been on a farm like that in ages but I remember the smells, the fragrance of alfalfa, hay, woodsy air. The quietude like balm for the soul. Cluckity chickens, snorting horses.

    “Eee hah!”

    So how is your appetite?

  2. Nice to see you're out of town for a while. I know what you mean; even if I go out of town for one day, I feel like I've been on a real vacation.

  3. The shadows from the fence and gate are wonderful, but I'm really drawn to the barn in the back! Big cities may be nice, but I'm glad I live in the country. :)

  4. A great country side scene. Nothing like the peace and quiet of the country. Loved that sight.

  6. Such a wonderful sense of tranquility and gentle light in this photo! And the fence line casts a dramatic, defined shadow!

  7. What a great retreat. Must be really nice to spend the weekend there.
PS. And yes the boys enjoyed the trampoline as much in gloomy days :-)

WHEN YOU SEE THE SHADOWS DANCE

When you see the shadows dance,
    Be it Mexico or France,
You may join the shadow fun,
Dancing till the day is done!
