Mellow Yellow Monday

This is Urs Fischer's sculpture "Untitled (Lamp/Bear)."
I shot it right before it was sold at auction by Christie's
(for almost $7 million—and yet below estimate), while it was
installed in front of the Seagram's building on Park Ave.
It's 23 feet tall and weighs 35,000 pounds.

[To see more yellow, go here.]
BTW, I shot this Urs Fischer
sculpture in Venice (admittedly,
this one I don't get at all).

  1. Wow. That's a grand dose of mellow yellow! I don't know what the sculpture in Venice means, though the chair bears more than a passing resemblance to an old one downstairs awaiting my sanding and painting efforts. Lilac, I'm thinking.

  3. It looks like it belongs at some kind of birthday party and with that reading lamp, by Jove, I’ve got it!
