Skywatch Friday

Venice in winter: an early-morning sky and
the lovely bells of San Giacomo di Rialto—the city's
oldest church, originally consecrated in 421(!).

  2. Woo! That's old, even if the entire edifice isn't, the consecrated ground is!

  4. I barely saw the sky, with such beauty distractions in its way. :)

To respond to your question, no I wasn't expecting winter in Maine to be so beautiful. We had a very mild winter last year and I was still adjusting to life up north so I didn't do a whole lot of exploration. This year, we got a lot of snow as did everyone else in the NE. I am also more settled with my new life here that I began to explore beyond my immediate boundaries. :)

  7. Alexa, that is a beautiful shot of one of my favorite churches in Venezia. I'm trying to figure out exactly where you were standing when you captured it.
