abc wednesday - L is for "Lady Liberty"

This time I'd like to thank the good people at ABC Wednesday for
providing me with the opportunity to post yet another
shot of this gift from France that
I love almost as much as I do the Eiffel Tower!

[See more of abc wednesday here.]

  1. I like how she's pointing up and so are the sails. She's quite a gal. Good shot!

  2. Great shot ! Quite crowded around the Lady. Almost like her little sister in Paris, she reminds me of NYC every time I drive by !

  3. I love this photo of her, Alexa, with the wind in the sails in the foreground ~ a double dose of liberty here.

  4. This is a wonderful photo, Alexa. I have just "discovered" your blog. I love NYC and I love boats and ships. I feel lucky :-)

  5. I forgot to tell you I like the colors and look of your new page !

  6. Wow, the most beautiful picture!
    It´s georgius!

  7. I've actually never been ON Liberty Island, though I've seen the statue from the Staten Island ferry.

  8. Great great shot Alexa! I love how it is mostly monochrome except for the sails - really nice.

  9. Thanks, all!
Roger -- I've never been ON Liberty Island either, and I live here. (Or perhaps that's why!)

  10. Alexa -- A beautiful NYC shot! She gives me a thrill and I went there as a child. My grandmother lived in NYC and we visited a few times each year.

I've spotted her from the air flying from ATL to New England (somewhere). So very cool to look down and see her!

  11. A beautiful pic of Miss Liberty, with this gorgeous ship on the foreground! I love it!

  12. This was lovely and so graceful too!

Thanks, merci, grazie, danke, hvala, gracias, spasibo, shukran, dhanyavaad, salamat, arigato, and muito obrigado for your much-appreciated comments.
