long lens

Felt a bit voyeuristic, so—sorry. 
 But it was such a good opportunity 
to test the new 15X zoom.

Thursday Challenge—"young #2"

I cannot tell a lie: I was in Battery Park
(at the tip of Manhattan) this past
weekend, and used my long lens to take
a bunch of pictures of this adorable
little redhead and his black Lab.
(I did trash all but this one though; I'm 
not a total baby-stalker, you know.)

abc wednesday - C is for "chimney pots"

—hundreds and hundreds of them, with a

bonus thrown in. If you've been to the

Beaubourg (Centre Pompidou), you'll

recognize that this photo (one of my faves)

was taken from there, with a pretty long lens.

Recently took a ride on the Staten

Island ferry at dusk—there was just

enough light left to get a shot of

the old girl with my long lens.

That's My World Tuesday

Well, it was my world for at least a brief

part of the summer. I know it looks like this 

small boy was about to be engulfed by a 

large wave—but I was shooting with 

a long lens, so no worries!

First pond-lily bud of the year

The camera with the long lens would have
shot this at the wrong angle altogether, so I had
to get this closeup shot with my phone
—and almost fell into the pond in the process!

Happy 4th of July

Took my long lens up on the roof of my building
and got some shots of the Macy's fireworks 
display.  Not too bad for several 
miles away at night without a tripod 
(and it was raining)!
That's the Trade Tower on the right.
