Happy 4th of July

Took my long lens up on the roof of my building
and got some shots of the Macy's fireworks 
display.  Not too bad for several 
miles away at night without a tripod 
(and it was raining)!
That's the Trade Tower on the right.

Skywatch Friday

The 4th of July is one of those times
 when I feel lucky to be in NYC.
(As long as I'm willing to brave the crowds),
I get to enjoy some seriously awesome fireworks.
To all of you who are celebrating today,
I hope you're having a festive Fourth!

Thursday Challenge—blurry

I was almost home after a long drive from Virginia
recently, and as we were crossing the
Brooklyn Bridge they were setting off fireworks
from a barge out in the East River (never did
find out why).  I tried to get some pictures, but from
a moving car, this is what I wound up with.
To tell you the truth, I kinda like it.

And wasn't my world spectacular last night?
Had to have some fireworks for the 4th, so I 
braved the crowds and went to watch the
skies light up over the Hudson River.

Last Saturday I was promised a private

fireworks show in Virginia to rival the Macy's

extravaganza here in NYC.

Well . . . it came pretty darn close!  And not 

for nuthin', I didn't have to take the

subway and fight the crowds to enjoy it

—and the Macy's show never provides me with 

fabulous food and drink and the company of such FUN people.

Happy 4th!

Here I am down in Virginia, so missing
the amazing Macy's fireworks display.
Have been assured that the private
show put on by our friends down here
is every bit as spectacular. Must admit,
I'm a skeptical New Yorker—but will
let you know.
