Ruby Tuesday

I found this thing in my mom's garden.
She didn't plant it (she's 92, and a bad back
has made planting anything off-limits for a
few years now).  So this patch pretty much tends
itself—except for a bit of weeding done by me,
who can't always tell a weed from a wisteria.
I think it looks like a mutant raspberry.
Anyone know its true identity?

Mellow Yellow Monday

They're renovating the Brooklyn Bridge,
and the blank temporary walls that are up right
now are just too big a temptation for lots of
folks (and some apparently don't care if no
one likes them).  I have to admit that most of
the signs I see are at least interesting, some
have pretty good graphics (like this),
and some of them are even funny.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Even if I was 90 and my knees were shot,
I think I'd still find a way to climb up
like Quasimodo to the top of Notre Dame,
to visit these fantastical creatures
and listen to the bells up close.

The Weekend in Black & White

I found these beautiful candle
glasses at my fave NYC emporium of all
things over-the-top: ABC Carpet and Home.
I wanted to buy the whole display
and light them all at once!

Skywatch Friday

I got this shot thanks to friends who
have a boat—this was not quite
the end of a perfect day. (We still
had this to look forward to.)

New York at Night (15)

5th Avenue, 8pm

These food vendors are everywhere, and I see lots

of people grabbing lunch or a quick snack from them.
Everyone needs to make a living and
I'm pretty
sure the Health Dept. checks these carts out.
That said—maybe I'm just chicken, but I've never
eaten this food and probably never will.

ABC Wednesday—C is for "carved"

And all the egocentric people who just had to
cut their name into this crooked tree.  I have

an old school desk that looks just like it.

And I've posted on my Paris blog, here.]
