Another souvenir from my most recent
visit down south: These sailboats
were already docked in a quiet cove for
the night, but I love to see them
under full sail out on the Chesapeake Bay!

Thursday Challenge—"fun"

Water + small child + large frisky dog + frisbee = fun?

To be honest, the small child wasn't 100%
comfortable with the large frisky dog.  However,
the large frisky dog was having a blast!

Thursday Challenge—"sports"

I spent last weekend at a house right
on the Chesapeake Bay, and for
three days we were treated to the sight
of graceful sailboats taking part in a regatta.

Gunpowder River

I rode the train from Virginia back to
NYC earlier this week.  All I remembered
about this shot was that I took it
somewhere between DC and Baltimore.
But iPhoto very kindly informs me that this is
the Gunpowder River, an inlet of Chesapeake Bay.

Shadow Shot Sunday

This shot was taken in the little town of Urbanna,
Virginia, near where I visit friends in the tidewater
region of Virginia.  Though it's less than 400 miles
from the insanity of NYC, it's a world away!

Just spent a wonderfully relaxing few days 
down South—loved watching the ospreys 
fishing for their supper in the river.

Shadow Shot Sunday

How to prepare the perfect meal
(though you do have to be in the right place):
Bait your crab traps, collect the crabs,
clean 'em, cook 'em, cover the
table with newspaper, pile those
crabs on top—then enjoy!
