inSPIREd Sunday

This is Santa Maria in Aracoeli, in Rome,
way up at the top of the Capitoline Hill.
I've been wanting to see the inside 
of this church for years.  Finally, last month, 
I climbed up there only to be stopped
at the door because there was a wedding
taking place.  The guard decided to
let us in, though—and I'm so glad.  There are
many, many gorgeous churches in Rome, 
but none with dozens of chandeliers like this one.
(And the wedding was beautiful too,
and bilingual: French bride, Italian groom.)

They Do

I was walking in Brooklyn Bridge Park last weekend 
and came upon the very public wedding of 
Sarah and Paul.  It was a lovely ceremony and even 
though they're complete strangers, I must admit I 
did get a little bit verklempt when they said their "I dos."

Shadow Shot Sunday

Lots of happy shadows were cast by this wedding 
party as they posed in my favorite garden.

And speaking of über-poufy . . .
Just kidding—the bride was truly 
lovely in this dress. (And I like 
the way the groom is helping with
her extra-long veil too.)

Skywatch Friday

Last Saturday, I was walking along the Hudson River
and a plane made several passes, flying this banner for a
couple of newlyweds. I found their wedding website 
(and signed their guest book). Congrats to Avni and Pratik!

And I did manage to catch the whole message.

abc Wednesday - B is for "brides on Brooklyn Bridge"

The bridge is not just for proposals.

Maybe that couple will also hike up here 

with their photographer after

they've tied the knot—though folks

have also gotten married on the bridge.

abc wednesday - W is for "wedding"

This is Joe and Giovanna. I don't know them,
but they got married somewhat publicly in
the garden a couple of weeks ago. So I
parked myself in the rose bushes with my
camera, all the while thinking "abc Wednesday,
W is for wedding."

Don't usually get personal here, but had to make

an exception today. Indian weddings are the most fun!

Everyone looks beautiful, and the food is awesome.

Our friends Neil and Ruah were totally gorgeous --

and they can definitely get down!
